Mnarani Snake Park: Small but Interesting
Situated at the entrance of the famous Mnarani Ruins, visiting this snake park can be a rewarding experience for nature enthusiasts, families, and anyone curious about reptiles. Whether you’re interested in learning about snakes, and other reptile, supporting conservation efforts, or simply enjoying a unique outing, the well-maintained Mnarani Snake Park can provide a rare, informative and enjoyable experience.
You access both Mnarani Snake Park and Mnarani Ruins on consecutive terms using the same ticket, bought at the Kenya Museum office. The ruins themselves are above the old ferry crossing, approached by climbing over 100 steps, so go prepared. The ticket costs Kes. 500 per person. Most prefer to visit Mnarani Snake Park after visiting the ruins. Overall, the whole experience, with the aid of local guides, is pleasant, although more investment would turn it into a “very good” attraction. The whole tour takes about 90 minutes, which includes a look-see around the snake park. The huge baobab trees are definitely worth checking out.

Around Kenya are to be found a hatful of delightful nature parks and sanctuaries, many of these being community initiatives to protect wildlife in their natural habitats. Fairly small in comparison to the national parks and reserves, they offer a more intimate exposure to the wild, to fully appreciate the local flora and fauna.
