Voi Wildlife Lodge: Centerpiece of Tsavo East
The centerpiece of Tsavo East National Park is the impressive Voi Wildlife Lodge, situated about 7 km from the main Voi Gate. This has been built on the brow of a rock outcrop at the shoulder of the Worsessa lookout and fronts on to Tsavo East. It was designed as the forerunner of a new type of safari lodge stencil, keeping in character with the dramatic outdoors, to offer modish standards of comfort and service. Established in 2003 on a superb 25-acre property, Voi Wildlife Lodge has 88 rooms, including 24 deluxe rooms, all with access to the large swimming pool below the main complex that’s a swanky spot to watch the wildlife. The overall outlook, getting better with age, sensitively contrasts with the wildlife plains. The large volcanic outcrops in sight of the hotel add to the beauty of the setting.
