Kenya Wildlife Service manages and maintains the budget-friendly four-rooms self-catering Kamboyo Cottage, 8 km from the Mtito-Andei Gate. The lodge, in beautiful surroundings, often sold short, not only provides adequate comfort and luxury but also allow you to connect deeply with the natural beauty of the Tsavo. On any given day, you can enjoy the company of elephants that traditionally come to water right at the backyard! It has spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, too. It is also a useful and convenient launch for adventures centered on Tsavo West National Park, notably of Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, Mzima Springs and Shetani Lava.
Guests to Kamboyo Lodge, also known as Kamboyo Guest House, are hosted on self-catering basis: Resident Rate Kes. 30,000 /night and Non-Resident Rate Kes. 39,600 /night. Each room contains twin beds, comfortably accommodating eight guests. For bookings made with more non-residents the non-resident rate is used. For bookings made more than 7 days in advance, a deposit of 50% should be paid within 48 hours. Amenities included; kitchen utensils, appliances, furnished living areas, beddings, linens, toiletries, hot shower, and electricity. The mean temperature in Taita Taveta is 23 Degrees Celsius, cooler around the hills and hotter on the Nyika where the Tsavos sit. Rainfall distribution is uneven, with the highlands receiving higher rains than the lowland areas. Taita mountain sphere receives the highest rains.
