Sidikho Falls: A Wide and Shallow Stunner
Waterfalls come in many shapes and forms, depending on how water interacts with the landscape and the underlying geology. Sidikho Falls, along River Nzoia, marking the unofficial boundary with Bungoma County on the opposite river bank, is an impressive block type waterfalls with the water flowing over a wide area and dropping as a single tray sheet, creating a uniform curtain of water. The rock pool below is aspread and shallow, acting as a natural resonator that reverberates the crush of the falls to a mighty roar. Mingled with its bucolic setting, its truly a gem.
Hidden deep in the rural countryside Sidikho Falls is, by any standard, not a well-known destination. Part of its pitfalls was traditionally wildering access to the site. The tarmac road from Nambacha to Sidikho was all-weather up until 2015 when a black top was laid. And while the new smooth road boosted accessibility to both Navakholo and Nambacha markets, the tarmacking of Nambacha-Sidikho Road was overlooked. A majority of those residing around the Sidikho Falls believe that, rightly so. it has potential for hydro-electric power production as well as tourism.

The altitudes of Kakamega varies between 1,240 ms to 2,000 ms. The southern part of the county is rather hilly, and strewn with unique and rugged granite tors, rising in places to nearly 1,950 ms.
Temperatures range from 18oC and 29oC. January to March are the hottest while June to August are cold spells. The climate is equable over the county, with adequate and well distributed rainfall.
