Lamanis Haven: Home Away From Home

This sits along the Kakamega-Malava-Webuye Road separated from Kakamega Forest Ecosystem by the Nyayo tea zone, which occupies the land cleared along the forest boundary between 1986-1989. This was done following a directive from President Moi that was designed to provide economic opportunity for the forest adjacent villages, but also to prevent the wanton encroachment of agriculture into the forest. The twin, self-catering 3-bedrooms Lamanis Haven, in the peaceful neighborhood of Ichina, just 6.3 km northeast of Kakamega town, represents the booming hospitality in Kakamega County. It offers exclusivity and freedom, which comes complete with comfort, lovely views of the country, tea plantations and a glimpse of the amazing Kakamega Forest. Lamanis Haven hosts up to eight guests.

Around Kenya, there is a collection of rare experiences, in middle-budget secluded hideaways, offering guests intimate encounters with parts of Kenya that rarely get under the limelight. Each getaway, secluded and away from civilization, is rooted in its local community and dedicated to showcasing their cultures.

Kakamega County remains a cornerstone of Kenya’s cultural and ecological diversity, with its vibrant traditions, economic activities, and natural beauty making it a critical part of the nation’s heritage. Smack in the middle of Western Kenya, enjoying a temperate climate, Kakemega is both populous and vibrant.
