Samawati Lakeside Cottages: Lake Olbolosat
Samawati Lakeside Cottages is a family-owned retreat nestled on the shores of Lake Ol’bolossatt (variant Olbolosat), 500 ms from the waters edge. Previously known as Samawati Conservancy, the property enjoys a secluded 20-acres of well-manicured grounds adorned with artistically trimmed acacia trees and other indigenous flora, blending with the natural beauty. The pleasant weather and the scenically-splendid add its secluded getaway character. On horseback, along the shores of the lake where people are rarer that birds, up to the mountain trail atop the ridge, one could be erred in labeling this the most charming lake of them all.
Samawati Conservancy offers five cozy, rustic cottages, all overlooking the lake, each designed to comfortably sleep four guests. The overall experience is one of tranquility and repose in a delightful rural country. The view of the lake is the star here, and each of their cottages has large windows fronting the lake, and a large well-kept frontage separating these. The lay of the cabins is snugly, intimate and homey: open-plan living and dining areas with warm fireplaces; well-equipped kitchens with tabletop gas burners, microwaves, and small refrigerators; and two double queen-size sleeping areas on a wooden mezzanine floor – dubbed the loft.
The reclaimed birch used in construction, along with vaulted ceilings and large windows, do up the spacious and airy ambiance. Guests can opt for self-catering or choose from bed and breakfast, half-board, or even full-board meal plans. The expansive grounds are ideal for team-building drills, games, lakeside weddings, camping, and glamping experiences. A playground for children, a garden, and a terrace for relaxation can be accessed by staying guests. The cottages’ proximity to Lake Ol’bolossat offers guests opportunities for birdwatching, nature walks, boating & fishing.
