Indigenous Plants Meet Beauty

Botanical Gardens, Arboretums and Parks

Kenya is home to several beautiful botanical gardens, arboretums, and nature parks that showcase the country’s rich biodiversity, including indigenous plants, medicinal herbs, and exotic species. The most noted of these is the aptly named Nairobi Arboretum. With over 350 species of trees and plants, both indigenous and exotic it is one of the surpassing leisure parks in Kenya, with useful walking trails, lovely picnic spots, and birding opportunities. While many botanic gardens around Kenya are associated with institutions of higher education, a handful are privately owned like Langata Botanical Gardens, a unique and lush garden located 20km from the city centre, and Kapsimotwa Gardens in Nadi Hills, Nandi County.

Kenya is home to a variety of public parks that offer recreational, historical, and cultural experiences. Located in the heart of cities and towns, these invaluable recreational parks offer open spaces, walking paths, and a serene environment for relaxation. Most pretty and well kept, public parks are ideal for peaceful strolls.
