Lion’s Cave Camp: Simple, Rustic, Seclusion
Located 2 km east of River Ewaso Nyiro Bridge and the A2 Road, shortly before arriving at archer’s Post, Lion’s Cave Camp, set up on a beautifully-appointed side of rock hill overlooking the river and small rapid, is a simple but amazing secluded getaway that provides comfort and an authentic safari experience without being overly extravagant. Accommodation at the Lion’s Cave Camp is offered in three cottages, and six safari-style tents, all-ensuite with views the river. The design of all the rooms is rustic, locally-inspired, open and airy, which decorously matches the spectacular views of the surrounding wilderness. Total bed capacity is 18.
The fact that Lion’s Cave Camp blends seamlessly with the environment is aptly demonstrated at its stunning pool, built by carving out the very rock a top which the rooms sit, within touch of River Ewaso Nyiro. The azure warm waters, jugged landscape, seclusion, and occasionally wildlife wandering by, offers an immersive cultural and safari experience within these Samburu wild boondocks. In between swimming and riverine walks, visitors can enjoy meals at the on-site restaurant sited above the pool. In many ways then, Lion’s Cave Camp is a remote paradise combining rustic simplicity with stunning wilderness beauty. It is eco-friendly, community-driven, and known for its personal and intimate safari experience.
