Amanzi Resort: Formerly Damside Hotel
If, instead of heading north at Chepilat junction to Sondu via Sotik-Ikonge Road, you turn west aiming for Keroka via C23 Road, you will arrive at Amanzi Resort in just under 4 km. Formerly named Damside Hotel, after the dam, a focal point of Amanzi Resort, this is a great jumping-off place to explore Nyamira County, and Gusiiland in general. In the fertile highland region where farms are packed to the top of the hills, Amanzi Resort enjoys a swanking and goodly real estate with first-rate views all-round. Activities are centred on the peaceful and serene outdoors.
The substantial dam is the main draw. Yet, everywhere you wander you get scenic views, outdoor activities, and a tranquil undertone to enjoy the calming setup of the countryside. Amanzi Resort offers upscale accommodations, standard dining, and access to outdoor activities such as golfing, water sports and a mini animal park. Embark on invigorating hikes along the scenic trails and encounter exotic wildlife, including the friendly resident ostriches. This, among its own unique amenities and experiences, combined with the appeal of being situated near a picturesque dam setting, makes this one of the great launches in Nyamira.
Away from urban centers and engulfed by natural landscapes, you can enjoy a rejuvenating round of golf. The course, of a recent development, is nestled at the bottom of two hills, bordering a forest, abutting the dam and expansive wetland – a breeding ground for the crested crane along side other bird species – is a picturesque setting for a blissful round of golf in the highlands. Overall, Amanzi Resort provide guests with an opportunity to escape the hither and thither of everyday life and immerse in the beauty and tranquility of nature, while still enjoying comfortable accommodations and a range of amenities and activities.

Whether your thing is a few power swings, a round of golf while on vacation, improving your skills or thirsting for new challenges – or somewhere in between – golfing in Kenya will treat you to fine memorable experiences few have enjoyed.
