Musikoma Hills: A Quick Getaway in Bungoma

Although upgrading of the infrastructure in on-going, the traffic bottleneck has made getting to Musikoma Hills somewhat time-consuming.

The geology of much of Bungoma County, including Bungoma town, is influenced by the volcanic activities of Mount Elgon and the slope variation in the county. To get to Musikoma Hills from Bungoma town, you drive out south along the C33 Bungoma-Mumias Road for 5 km to Musikoma Junction. Here, you turn left onto the C33 Bungoma-Mumias Road adjunct for 2 km, then turn right onto Moi Avenue to Musikoma Hills. For the locals it’s a thirty minutes for town to the site. It takes only ten minutes using the hop-on hop-off motorcycle taxis, more proper boda bodas. At the entrance, you need to purchase a ticket to access the rocks.
