Embu Art Centre: A Novel Idea
Opened in August 2016, Embu Art Centre is a space dedicated to the display and exhibition of various forms of visual art, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and other artistic works. The communal space serve as cultural institutions that provide a platform for artists from around Embu and outwith to showcase their creations and for the public to engage with and appreciate art.
Although the concept of art galleries is new to these neck of the woods, Embu Art Centre, which serve as a community hub, hosting cultural events, openings, receptions, and gatherings that bring together artists, collectors, patrons, and art enthusiasts, may upturn the hope of art in this region. These events contribute to the local cultural scene and foster a sense of community among participants.
Embu Art Centre is located off B6 Embu-Meru Road adjacent to Embu Level 4 Hospital, or I km before the Izaak Walton Inn. Excepting Sundays, it is open daily from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. For more information call 0719719529 or 0718475884

Embu is exemplified by its sharply defined uplands, lowland and slopes from the north, northwest towards the east and southeast, with a few isolated hills such as Kiambere and Kiang’ombe.
