Mombasa Marine Park & Reserve: Pretty Blue
Covering 210 km2 between Tudor Creek in the south and Mtwapa Creek in the north, Mombasa Marine Park and Reserve is the most visited marine reserve in Kenya. The marine park itself covers 10 km2, while the reserve covers 200 km2. The enclosed parts of the lagoon, the reef, with a vibrant underwater life, and the varied water-sports are the main highlights. The reserve covers the four principal beaches of Nyali, Kenyatta, Bamburi and Shanzu. So that almost all of the highly-lauded middle-budget sun-lovers hotels along North Coast are within Mombasa Marine Reserve, which include: Nyali Beach, Voyager Beach Resort, Bahari Beach Hotel, Pride-Inn Beach Resort, The Reef Hotel, Jomo Kenyatta Public Beach, Sai Rock Beach Resort, Whitesands Beach Resort, Travellers Resort, Flamingo Beach Hotel, Severin Resort, the Sun Africa Beach Resort, Serena Mombasa and Bahari Beach Hotel. Entry charges in Kes: Citizen Adult 100, Child 100; Resident Adult 100, Child 100; Non-Resident Adult 1,500, Child 1,000. Mombasa Marine Park and Reserve is accessible via Links Roads, and by boat from many points in the hotels.

Mombasa County can be split into 3 zones: 1. Coastal plain, covering parts the Island; 2. The hilly areas rising gently from 45 ms to 132 ms asl in the west; and 3. The Indian Ocean, creeks and the shoreline.
Mombasa County is generally warm and humid. A tropical wet and dry climate influenced by warm sea breezes year-round. May is generally the wettest month, then April and June. March is the hottest, peaking at 33oC, with average temperatures across the year rarely falling below 24oC; July and August.
