The origin of Hinduism in Kenya dates back to the late 1800s, when Imperial British East Africa Company brought in labourers from India to build the Uganda Railway. Although Hinduism is a minority faith in Kenya, accounting for 0.145% of the population, it was officially recognized as the 44th tribe of Kenya in 2016.
