Daraja Mungu: An Underground River

The pathways results from the dissolution of soluble rocks like limestone. This unusual place between the surface expressions of the river is locally considered as “god’s bridge”. Malikisi in the local language mean a place of Gold. River Malakisi rises on the southern slopes of Mount Elgon and runs through Bungoma town into Uganda.
